Today's immigration executive orders are not self-executing.

This may come as a surprise, since "executive" & "order" sound pretty decisive.

But most EOs are, literally, memos from @POTUS to the Cabinet, who make the actual changes.

So here's what to watch for next...

The Domestic Policy Council will (re)launch whole-of-government efforts to advance the inclusion & integration of immigrants into our communities.

Sounds uncontroversial, no?

Speaking of New Americans, now @StateDept, @TheJusticeDept, & @DHSgov are tasked with knocking down barriers to US citizenship—an "invisible wall" created by Trump.

It isn't happening today, but you can bet that Trump's absurd 11th-hour changes to the civics test for new Americans will be scrapped as part of this review process.

DHS is on the hook to "substantially reduce current naturalization processing times," which under Trump became a tool for disenfranchising soon-to-be US voters.
