I am going to share some thoughts at @unfoldmybrain 's request about MSP vs Internal IT. I'll start by saying I have only been working at an MSP for 1 month vs 10 years internal IT. Also sorry for the delay on this. https://twitter.com/unfoldmybrain/status/1354588437240819715
First the people you support are not your co-workers which changes the dynamic a bit. Previously I would have conversation with non-IT coworkers about their life because I just saw them/talked to them a lot. some every week/day. MSP you just have them on the phone for as long as
you need them and not any longer. they have their job to do.

Another is you have to better at understanding how products work. Internal IT would set up something that worked one way and one way only. MSP certain products might be used differently at different companies.
Everything is more organized/structured/documented because it has to be. If you were not good at that in Internal IT then you were mostly just inconveniencing yourself/ your company. If you lose important info of a client then you could be losing a customer.
You get to work with so much more technology at an MSP. SO MUCH MORE. Internal IT everyone had their assigned role and if there was an issue with it then you just give it to that person. You can get training on it maybe when there is spare time but there never is spare time.
I'm sure there is more but I'm still new and learning things. I may or may not add to this list in the future.
