Animators in Japan make almost nothing. They deserve fair pay, period + bonuses if an easter egg is popular and drives eyes to a show imo. Japanese animators make USD $10,000-$31,000 a year. They deserve much more than a âraiseâ for a fuckin youtuber easter egg.

this isnt me hating @Corpse_Husband btw this is me hating how undervalued animators are when the anime industry rakes in billions of dollars and normal people who arent animators donât know the people who actually make their fav animes are starving and canât pay rent.
Also, itâs a good time to remember how incredibly labor intensive 2D Animation is and how many peers (myself included) struggle even more with this due to chronic illnesses. Animation can lead to carpal tunnel much faster with how many drawings youâre doing per day. Itâs a lot.
You could have almost 3 million people who probably like some sort of anime seeing and starting a discussion on the unfair wages Japanese animators have to accept in order to keep the shows they love running. But easter egg...scrambled eggs...robin eggs...cadbury cream eggs
Not trying to moral posture or be holier than thou im just frustrated for my fellow animators struggling to fucking eat and have places to fucking sleep in (some opting to sleeping in the studios because of it)
If it really bothers you that this seems like a dig towards youtubers: i dont care. I very clearly lined out I didnât hate these people, and was frustrated seeing animators undervalued and not knowing about the toxic workplace enviorments in Japan. Get a grip.
Just woke up and am not in the mood to see people pick apart a tweet thread I made in frustration to nobody giving a fuck about animators, and only the end product.
Im not âblamingâ fucking twitch streamers for the workplace enviorment in fucking Japan that have evolved since before they were born. But that is the funniest shit Iâve heard today so far.
