Having a Canadian-made solution to vaccine production is a positive step forward, but having to wait until the end of 2021 isn’t going to cut it.
Canadians, including Albertans, need vaccine doses now. 1/6

To date, Alberta has administered 107K doses of vaccine.
Over 16.2K Albertans have now been fully immunized with two doses.
With each reduced shipment, Canada continues to fall further behind on the world stage. 2/6 https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-20-world-vaccine-doses-administered-1.5891465

We're doing all we can to protect the lives & livelihoods of Albertans, but we are at the mercy of the federal government & its vaccine suppliers.
Again, we are expecting only limited doses later this week.
It’s simply not enough. 3/6 https://edmontonsun.com/opinion/columnists/gunter-anger-growing-over-trudeau-governments-bungling-of-covid-19-vaccines

Albertans who are most at risk from #COVID19AB are waiting.
We have the capacity to vaccinate 50,000 Albertans each week, yet vaccination clinics sit empty.
Existing clinics are waiting for doses, and we have more ready to open when the vaccination program can be expanded. 4/6

@GoAHealth & @AHS_media are striving to do everything in our power to get doses to Albertans.
At this time, we are only limited by the supply we receive.
We continue to call on the federal government to do more and get doses to Albertans now – not in 10 months. 5/6

Each week Alberta’s allocation is slashed, is another week Albertans will have to wait to be protected from COVID-19.
And another week until life returns to some semblance of normal. 6/6
