Been an up and down season but for the most part I've been beating the market on totals pretty consistently. About 3% CLV for the season which I feel good about.
Not the case tonight with Butler/Marquette which has moved 2.5 points against me. Few thoughts on why I disagree...

When capping a total obviously offensive and defensive efficiency are important but I usually do a good job at predicting pace. As we all know (or should know by now) Ken Pom is basically setting the market and he has this one at 64 possessions...
Jordan took the job with Butler in '18 and since then they've played Marquette 6 times with Wojo obviously coaching the Golden Eagles each time. Not a huge sample size but 6 H2H meetings are relevant in my opinion...
In those 6 games here is where the number of possessions landed.
69
72
68

80 (OT game but still works out to 71 in 40 min game)

As mentioned earlier Ken Pom has it at 64 today. I'm expecting more in the 66-67 range.

If I get that amount of possessions and it still goes under I'll take my L and move on.
Neither team an offensive juggernaut but Thompson is working his way back for Butler (critically important) and Marquette's high usage guys all have plus efficiency ratings.

A bit of a rant and I know many don't care but I haven't had time to elaborate on plays as much as I'd like this year.
Saw a chance here to go through this one a bit so hopefully useful to some. GL to you all tonight
