Men are often skeptical about the prevalence of women experiencing sexual assault and rape because they can't believe it could possibly be that common, but they should be exploring what fundamental misunderstandings about sexual assault + consent men have that's causing it
If most women are saying that they've experienced sexual assault + most men can't believe that, maybe men should be trying to figure out what behaviors towards women they've viewed as normal, are actually not. Maybe its time to talk about what behavior + attitudes need to change
So instead of disbelieving women, or trivializing their experience, maybe you should listen to the women so you can learn what isn't okay and we can start bettering ourselves and our interpersonal relationships as a society
