This country is a powder keg, and Biden's idiotic gun bill could easily be the match that sparks everything off.
Seriously, someone make the argument that passing this bill, with the country as it is, isn't horribly dangerous.
Best case; BEST if you want the country to stay together and not devolve into a dystopian shithole, would be something like this:
Bill passes quietly, is immediately challenged in court. Maybe some provisions get struck, but most likely federal courts kick everything for standing
Meanwhile feds very judiciously avoid prosecuting on the bill itself, and mainly use it as additional charges to force defendants into please.
Most sheriff's and red cities refuse to enforce, so blue states/cities are disproportionately affected.
Of course the rando right of Pelosi white guy gets lots of publicity as Muh Right Wing Extremist, but mostly it's the black dude who doesn't have $200 to toss at a tax stamp for his legally carried, 11 round p365.
Now the justice system is even more two tiered. Congrats, libs.
Meanwhile anti-gunners are empowered to call in on anyone they think is a gun nut and claim they think they saw an illegal mag.
We now have a domestic informant network targeting people purely for their political leanings.
Again, congrats, good job.
Trust goes even lower.
Normal people who didn't hurt anyone and aren't a threat are now facing 10 years for EVERY MAGAZINE.
And people are now watching what they say even around friends and neighbors, not knowing who's a snitch.
Our social fabric degrades further.
If you think that's healthy in a free country, you're nuts.
And this is BEST case.
Which relies on Biden's handlers to have a great deal of patience and judgement, and NOT to immediately flex their new powers.
Chances of that?
I dunno, maybe worst case is worth a thread too.
