A new article was released today by Africa Intelligence in which they delve into the relationship between Somali elites and TPLF. The remnants and beneficiaries of TPLF are still in Somalia and some are even vying for presidency. Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud is their #1 man in Somalia.
During his time as President, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud (HSM) was not a true leader but rather a man serving the interests of the TPLF and the notorious “General Gabre”. In the first picture, HSM is attending the 40th anniversary of the TPLF & in the second, Gabre is scolding him.
Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden, former Speaker of Parliament and President of Southwest State was another key TPLF point man in Somalia. Sharif would deal directly with current head of WHO @DrTedros in a quest to divide Somalia up for TPLF to rule it.
Ahmed Madoobe is the last standing major TPLF player in Somalia. Madoobe, backed by TPLF, came into power after a fierce battle with Barre Hiiraale which resulted in an agreement being brokered by the TPLF which then installed Madoobe as the President of Jubaland.
Sheikh Sharif, former President of Somalia is also compromised by TPLF. Despite waging war on Ethiopia in 2006, when TPLF forces invaded, Sharif boarded a Kenyan helicopter then made peace with TPLF. He then returned as president and did whatever Gabre told him to.
Kamal Gutale, former Chief of Staff and founder of the Wadajir Party was also working for the TPLF. Here he is pictured with Gabre at a meeting discussing Somali issues. Wadajir’s current candidate is @AAbdishakur and it is believed that he is compromised through Gutale.
TPLF’s control was not limited to Mogadishu, but Puntland as well. In this video, former President of Puntland, Abdirahman Faroole, pays his respects to Meles Zenawi & says his death is a loss to Somalia. Faroole praises Meles for the federalist system & says Somalia copied it.
Somaliland, just like Mogadishu, was also ruled by TPLF. In this picture, current President of Somaliland, Muse Bixi and other officials, are all lined up like schoolboys to meet the PM of Ethiopia.
In this picture, former President of Somaliland, Ahmed Mohamed Silanyo is seen with a portrait of Meles Zenawi and an Ethiopian flagged draped on the table. TPLF had a consulate based in Hargeisa where they would run Somaliland’s administration until it was officially shut down.
