Many of you are wondering what will happen to the vaccine doses for those who are snowed out today and if we will have “extra doses.” The short answer is no, but we want to ensure you know why. (1/4)
We are using the Pfizer vaccine at the Cross Center mass vaccination clinic, which means that even after it’s thawed, as long as it is kept at the right temperature and not reconstituted, this vaccine can be safely used for five days. (2/4)
This means that anyone who misses their appointment today can be rescheduled for Thursday and we will still have doses on hand for them. It is our goal, always, to vaccinate as many of our community members as possible without any waste. (3/4)
We urge the you to not arrive at any vaccination clinic without an appointment to prevent overcrowding and frustration when there are not extra doses available. We’re excited to see everyone today. If you need to reschedule for safety reasons, please call 207.204.8551 4/4
