One Mets prospect to keep eye on in 2021 is 20 yr old RHP Zach Hammer.
Along with having a fantastic name for a pitcher, he spent the lost season working on mechanics, increasing his FB velo and putting on weight.
Going in the opposite direction of sorts, RHP Mets prospect Bryce Hutchinson spent the lost season shedding pounds and working on his arsenal. He could be a high flyer into upper minors in 2021. Wondering if he is now destined to make that quick rise as a pen arm.
Mets farm systems swiss army knife Cody Bohanek spent lost season building more strength to add power to his game at the plate. An OBP guy with plate discipline who can play pretty much every position on diamond except P/C.
Lost in all the recent excitment over new guys as depth moves made by Mets for upper minors this winter is Mets RHP prospect Tony Dibrell who spent lost season getting back his velo and working on mechanics. If he recaptures that Low A/class High A magic.....
22 year old RHP Mets prospect Jose Butto remains one of my main sleeper picks in 2021 as a guy who will exceed expectations. My Intel remains based off all players/coaches around him telling me he is the real deal. Overall "stuff" is something you can't teach.
21 year old IF prospect Shervyen Newton remains a wildcard with star potential. True natural athletes often go one direction or the other with no in between. 2021 is a big year for him. Putting in the work all lost season. I still personally want him in OF.
Another pure natural athlete and big body coming into his own physically I'm told is/was IF prospect Jaylen Palmer who arrived at instructs in incredible shape. Another guy who for all we know blossoms completely in 2021 gets to Mets top 10 ranking area quickly. Is OF possible?
