This was in yesterday's Globe, rapid spread of the UK variant with just a few minutes of contact. The 15 mins/2 meter distancing rule won't work when a virus is likely airborne. What does this mean for your day-to-day life?

1) Up your mask game
Time to dump the cloth masks; get surgical masks, which are good at filtering as long as they are snug against the face. Use two masks, or even nylon stocking to make a snug fit to your face. This is a great example: https://twitter.com/LadyScorcher/status/1355210899917860867
2) Avoid any indoor space, even for a few minutes
Setup delivery for your groceries, or use pickup options. Most of the major retailers' offerings are now mature and easy to use. Many will do phone orders for who have tech difficulties. Vaccines are close, don't take the risk
3) Really be careful about returning kids to school.
With an airborne variant, more precautions need to be taken, but it looks like no province is doing enough. We need special attention to ventilation, masking, rapid testing, otherwise we will see an avalanche of cases soon
