The hardest part is learning to listen to your gut in the face of all the gaslighting. Look how all these shitty, mediocre men are trying to drag down @AOC's lived experience. It's just like that any time a woman says she felt as though she was in physical danger.

And that gaslighting, my friends, is a coordinated disinformation attack in the service of fascism, to keep women in "our places." Just because we're used to it doesn't mean that it is any less so.

Also, women in positions of influence and power don't need to make shit up for attention. They get plenty of attention in the form of DMs asking for pics of their feet, death threats, shit like that. Any journalist saying otherwise is demonstrating a clear anti-woman bias.

I remember once I went in to a job interview and the guy asked me what my strengths were. I was still very young and thought I could impress him with my mad skills, so I said I was very good at picking things up about people. He said, "Go on, impress me. What are you picking up?"

I said, "Well, you have two children, a boy and a girl. You're recently divorced. You just moved into a new place. Oh, and you have a dog." (His office had kids' drawings, self-help books, and a dog bed.) He looked utterly stunned and said, "How did you know this??"

I didn't get the job lol
