1. So... in my home town when riots started this summer I was cowering in my friends house as we watched the news live all night long pretty much.
2. We didn't know what was going to "make them stoo" and didn't know what streets they where going to turn down, or how violent it would get. After the first night I realized they would onky go so far and the police would disperse the crowd routinely and it wouldn't come to us
3. We were told riots where the voice of tge unheard, and to deal with it. They "needed to terrorize innocent people to force change" meanwhile there was no cohesive list of demands other than to convict officers without due process... which... I understand..but mob justice...
4. I remember after night after night I just stopped caring. New what areas to avoid. People would get beat up every now and then. No one cared. Oh well. Then the capital was stormed and politicians got a taste of how I had to feel that first night.
5. They claim thier struggles are worse and it's a false equivalence to say I was equally or more afraid when tge riots happened this summer. I dont have armed guards at my house.... yea... it was worse for me. I got over it. I dont care anymore. Yet this is fresh for them.
6. I dont feel bed for them. I never will. Ever.
