thinking abt how the vk sibs overcame their trauma differently. miles learned to become his own person, to strive for truth rather than victory, to learn to live by his own design. he attempted everything he could to disconnect himself from the von karma name and the +
burdens it carried, and became Miles Edgeworth, rather than Von Karma's Puppet. franziska, however, seemed to attempt to forge a new identity not for herself, but for the name. she wanted to rid "von karma" of it's reputation not by excluding herself, but entirely the +
opposite. she immersed herself in the name, and turned it's reputation around. she started off burdened with the name and it's connotations, and ended up proud of it and all she had achieved.
it's also interesting to see how they both view the vk name. they both see it as a burden, but miles sees it as a reminder of his past, a dark cloud over his head, dwindling, but still omnipresent in his daily life, now that he's scarred by it. franziska sees it as +
something to strive for, something that deserves respect, something to live up to, something not worthy of other people.
they dont understand each other in this regard, but obviously they respect it
