This spectacularly misses the point - in two ways.
First, it's not just around the S. African variant. We must all think twice about what activities are essential and seek to work from home. That's how to bring infections down/open up as fast as possible. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55898258
Second, more than the public it is the government that must 'think twice' about:
limiting the definition of 'essential jobs' which require people to leave home
requiring employers to let people work from home
providing support for those who have to stay at home
What is more, if Government want us to stay at home they should set an example and desist from jaunts up to Scotland, not to support the pandemic response but transparently to make party political points against the SNP.
