Was somewhat puzzled by soon to be former "Proud Boy" leader Enrique Tarrio's Telegram post where he said he was watching his "enemies burn"
Then we realized who he must have been talking about.
His own people.
Then we realized who he must have been talking about.
His own people.
His post came just after it was revealed that he had not only been a police informant, he had been a "prolific" informant https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/27/proud-boys-leader-enrique-tarrio-fbi-informant
And if we zoom out for a moment and look at the history of far right movements, we see a history of police infiltration.
There have been documented cases of informants and undercover agents leading and or encouraging violence and murder

Another point worth mentioning is that the history of American fascism at least in part a history of fascists engaging in violent feuds with one another. See the killing of "American Nazi Party" founder George Lincoln Rockwell
And if you look back at some of the events that have transpired over the past several months it certainly looks like Tarrio was using his police connections to settle some scores
Back in November, Kyle Chapman who is better known as "Based Stickman" came out as a full on Nazi , denounced Tarrio, and made moves to take control of the group https://www.newsweek.com/proud-boys-based-stickman-enrique-tarrio-goys-1546597
Right after this, the FBI reportedly raided Chapman's house and took his computer. Allegedly they were looking for information about the "Proud Boys"
That the FBI had not shown up at Tarrio's house considering he is/was the leader of the group was sus as hell.

And here is some of what Tarrio had to say about the matter via his Telegram.

This brings us up to events in DC. No, not January 6th.
There were actually two MAGA rallies that effectively served as "dry runs" for January 6th.
People were puzzled as to how it was that the "Proud Boys" were able to come to the city and do violence with relative impunity

The two previous MAGA marches in DC, one in November and one in December were marred by "Proud Boy" violence and instances of either police complicity or inaction https://dcist.com/story/21/01/06/dc-maga-rallies-policing-proud-boys-criticism/
This was a pattern that had repeated itself in cities throughout the country.
"Proud Boys" come and attack people.
The police either do nothing or arrest the people who the "Proud Boys" attacked https://theintercept.com/2020/09/28/portland-proud-boys-rally-journalists/

It became clear that the "Proud Boy" leadership were organizing interstate violence and they were not attempting to hide it.
Indeed, it became the thing they were known for.
And it wasn't a problem for them until they set their sights on the police https://www.salon.com/2021/01/22/from-back-the-blue-to-back-the-yellow-how-joe-biggs-and-the-proud-boys-turned-on-the-police/

In hindsight however, this rhetorical pivot from "back the blue" to "fuck the police" was a neccessary one if one were to position their org. as the vanguard of an insurrectionist plot https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/emmanuelfelton/black-capitol-police-racism-mob
An insurrection that Tarrio would manage to miss out on as he was arrested and compelled to leave DC just before it was set to occur https://www.thedailybeast.com/proud-boys-leader-enrique-tarrio-released-from-jail-but-banned-from-dc-until-june-court-date
That again, in retrospect seem even more suspicious in light of the fact that Tarrio has aspirations beyond that of sedition and conspiracy charges for helping to organize said insurrection https://twitter.com/IwriteOK/status/1346541023292395521?s=19
And just happens to map onto the narrative that Tarrio has created for himself of a constantly tormented hero whose only purpose is to advance liberty and freedom for all.
A 2nd Amendment legal challenge in DC is just the kind of gift that will keep on giving for years to come

It should be noted that while Tarrio postures on Telegram, he maintains strong ties to the GOP
And as far as we know, he maintains his leadership position with "Latinos for Trump"

Since his arrest, Tarrio has been able to raise well over $100k for his defense that we know of.
Meanwhile, some of the "Proud Boys" arrested for their role in the capitol insurrection have $0
