How do you start a business? Would side projects be the way to go?

This is a thread on how Wonderpath started. 🤓
/ Team is everything, that is no secret. How do you find the people that will compliment your skills, challenge you, help you grow, and are pretty awesome to hang out and work with? One of the best videos I’ve seen by @robfitz on finding co-founders:
/ I met my co-founder @tea_ess in 2016. We were flatmates during our MBA in Barcelona. Since then, we worked on more side projects, case competitions & startups ideas than we can count. In 2020, the stars (and our motivations) aligned to start building Wonderpath.
/ The best thing you can do if you also see entrepreneurship as a career path is start doing mini side projects with people in your network you find inspiring, smart, and energising. What topics are you enthusiastic about? What are your personal challenges? Start from there.
/ Wonderpath came about from our personal pain point. Both of us experienced the challenge of personal development at work first hand. As we grew in our careers, our feedback started to sound more ambiguous and fluffy. We are building a learning tool we wish we had earlier.
/ We believe that the most fundamental skills of the future are tech and soft skills. Yet the space for soft skill development has still a long way to go to offer a truly engaging and valuable product to the learners. We want to change that.
/ The founding journey - very similar to any personal development journey - is a real roller coaster. At times, it feels overwhelming, unclear, messy. We would not be where we are today if it weren’t for some awesome mentors and programs we found along the way.
/ We joined the Accelerator of ESADE, @esadeEEI eWorks to learn from some great mentors and hold ourselves accountable with weekly goals. I joined the #StealthMode program at @FactoryBerlin to grow my network in Berlin and learn from other awesome founders.
/ Start building your own network and seek out opportunities that will challenge you and help you grow. With each side project you will learn a ton about your potential co-founders, yourself, your working style, and the process of creating something from zero.
