How should we react to failure?

Some random thoughts.

Failure will happen - to everyone.

You are not always the cause.

Before jumping into correction mode, its worth some extra analysis.

Were our efforts enough?

Was there anything lacking?

Do we need further knowledge, skills or tools?

If yes, plan and fix the gaps.

If the failure was systemic - a pandemic, an economic down-turn.

Ask yourself, could you have predicted it?

If not, all you need may be patience to last the cycle.

Note - this is true for systemic successes too.

Don't credit yourself for random successes!

Picking an anti-fragile skill is always the best bet.

A skill that will thrive even when times are bad.

Carpentry,. Coding, Writing, Taxi driving - whatever.

Fads die during downturns.

These skills will remain.
