- Among the richest 10% of households, the same amount have 3 cars (25%) as have 1 car (25%)

- Car ownership more than doubles from the poorest households (40%) to the richest households (92%)

- Among the richest 30% of households, almost half (46%) have two cars
- Over half (52%) of the cars on the road are owned by the richest 37% of households

- Among the poorest 30% of households, almost half (47%) have no car

- Among the poorest 10% of households, 3 in 5 (60%) have no car
- Car ownership almost doubles between households living in social rented accommodation (48%) and households owning their home (89%).

- Car ownership is lowest among households renting from the council, at 45%
- Among single retired households, 34% of those on a state pension have a car/s, compared to 56% of those on a private pension

- Car ownership differs little between households without/with children, biggest gap is between 2 adults non-retired (87%) and 2 adults, 4+ kids (78%)
