In case people are wondering why British Millennials didn’t know much about LGBT+ history and things until after coming out, it’s because up until November 2003 it was illegal.

For anyone unaware though a lot of us in the UK know it, we had a thing called Section 28.

What is Section 28?

"shall not intentionally promote homosexuality or publish material with the intention of promoting homosexuality" or "promote the teaching in any maintained school of the acceptability of homosexuality as a pretended family relationship".

So What I'm learning is that Gen X and Gen Z was also failed by the system... So, why do we have LGBTQ+ History Month?

Because our history is still largely hidden.
