How to create content that finds its audience autonomously

🧵 Secrets from @AliAbdaal and @uxblake

Time for a thread 👇👇👇
Quick note:

These are not the only people that apply this "hack".

However, they have recently shared this and I thought I'd amplify their message for you.
1.1/ Give away stuff for free

People LOVE free stuff.

They'll give their email in exchange for the "free" piece of content.

Fortunately enough, both @AliAbdaal and @uxblake do not compromise the quality of their work when they give stuff for free.
1.2/ Ali gives a FREE 7-day course about starting Youtube

Two benefits:

• Leads people to his flagship course
• Builds credibility as the quality of FREE content is high

People wonder: imagine how good paid content (course) will be — I've seen @OneJKMolina do the same.
1.3/ Blake shares everything about audience-building for FREE

Initially charging a monthly subscription for http://creatorkit.in , he moved to making it accessible to all — $0.

Two benefits:

• More exposure to people (email list grew to 1000+)
• Builds credibility
Note:

Giving away for free will generate more traffic than you want.

What I mean is: not everyone will be your "target audience".

Now, the goal is to find your core audience — your "1000 true fans" as @kevin2kelly says.

This is how you are going to do it 👇
2.1/ Create content for one persona

Build a target person.

Imagine your audience is one person, what are their interests?

This willl help you channelize your focus into things that actually matter for your target audience.

See how both @AliAbdaal and @uxblake do it below 👇
2.2/ @AliAbdaal creates for "Medic Mo"

By building this persona, Ali fundamentally understands if "Medic Mo" will appreciate a particular section being added to his course or not.

If you try to build for everyone, you end up building for no one. https://www.linkedin.com/embed/feed/update/urn:li:ugcPost:6760116400863371264
2.3/ @uxblake creates for "MJ"

Blake highlights everything from optimum method of communication to what their goals are.

Although his audience includes people interested in several different things,

He does not refrain from narrowing down to what the "core audience" desires.
