of 10/ Most of us have seen or experienced mild to moderate rudeness or disrespect at work. Rudeness is a manifestation of incivility.
of 10/Have you ever thought about the impact of rudeness in a healthcare setting? The NHS is reliant on teamwork, communication and multidisciplinary working. @civilitysaves
of 10/There is a lot of evidence about the effects of rudeness in the workplace on staff physical as well as mental wellbeing, individual and team performance and ultimately patient care.
of 10/Are there any factors that increase the likelihood of being the target or rudeness?
of 10/Despite the NHS being the largest employer of BAME people in the UK with 19.7% working for NHS Trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups, little is known about their experiences of incivility and the implications for patient safety
/ The Workforce Equality Research Standards (WRES) staff survey continues to report BAME staff experiencing discrimination, harassment, abuse & bullying from colleagues and patients at a higher rate than their white counterparts across NHS organisations https://bit.ly/3tjiYED
of 10/ BAME staff experience of rudeness from superiors, peers, patients and patient families is not explored in the NHS workforce surveys and the impact on quality and safety of care is yet to be understood.
