Coming to end of 2nd year Maths and 3rd year Science CBAs which were done remotely. Was a bit apprehensive before hand, but overall it has been (mostly!) smooth. A few key takeaways for anyone looking to do the same in the next few weeks:
Break it into small tasks. I spent a class reading through an exemplar with them and got them to try and map it to the FoQ in breakout rooms. They loved being mini-examiners. They then analysed 3 as their task to get into the mindset of what was involved
Set a timeline. It’s important they know what needs to be dont and by when. It’s a lot more difficult for them to manage themselves at home when we’re not there
Feedback on work done throughout is vital. They were uploading drafts at regular intervals onto OneNote. I used @ClodaghWheeler snazzy feedback ribbon to make the audio feedback easy to find. Was great to see them engage with the feedback too
