People always remember Younis khan by the 2009 t20 World Cup, but his unbelievable career was much more than just that, he broke records for fun. A thread.
Younis khan managed 10,009 test runs in his test career, making him 1 out of 13 players in history and the only Pakistani to hit the 10k run mark.
He is the 8th batsmen to have more centuries than fifties, His conversion rate was a whopping 51.8% ( Only Don Bradman has a better Conversion Rate )
Khan Saab has an average of 50.51 in the 4th innings, which is the best by a Pakistani and and 5th best overall. He also has the most Centuries in the 4th innings ever (5)
He has 34 Test Centuries, which again is the most by a Pakistani, 9 more than second place. His 34 centuries are also joint 6th most overall. He also has 27 overseas Centuries, this unbelievable stat is only second to Sachin who has 29.
He is only Pakistani batsman to have have scored a century vs every other 9 test playing nations and the only batsman ever to score a century in 11 nations.
Khan is the only batsman to average 50+ in all 4 innings of a test match. He is also the only Pakistani Captain to score a triple century and 1 of 8 captains to ever do it.
His impact on the pitch is unmatched in Pakistan cricket ever since he retired. He is arguably the best batsman of spin Pakistan has ever had and certainly one of the best sweepers to ever play the game.
He was always a clutch player from the beginning of his career, he has some phenomenal innings throughout his career. His triple hundred against the likes of murali and his gritty 267 vs India against the likes of Kumble and Harbhajan, 171* against Srilanka and his
218 vs England at the oval are some of fav knocks of his.
Teamwork was something that was wired into him, Giving his most for his team and Caring for his teammates was a part of him, that’s why his partnerships are so successful and popular specially with the likes of Moyo and Misbah.
Man was a proper Pioneer of the sport, played the by the book, was always a great representative of Fair play.
Younis khan was phenomenal player, once he was settled it was near impossible to get him out. With him on the crease there was always hope that even the impossible can be done right now. He is one of the most clutch batsmen Pakistan has ever had, always stepped up
He retired just the way he deserved to, with a historical series win for Pakistan and leaving the pitch on the shoulders of his teammates after a nail bitter.
Man ate pressure for breakfast and was unmatched when he was in his element. One of my Favourite Cricketers of all time.
