I was ruthless with my closet as we were packing to move. Anything I didn’t love went in the donate pile.
But I still had 12 dresser drawers, a massive garbage bag and at least 60 hangers full of clothes.

Now we’re all moved in, and my stuff takes up about 80% of the closet. A lot of it is stuff I love and have had forever, but I probably still have too much.
So here’s how it works in my favor.

When we got to Milwaukee, we tried to buy a washer and dryer from a guy who refurbishes them. But after three missed deliveries, he stopped responding to our messages.

So we got a set from a well-known hardware store that may or may not share my last name. We book the earliest delivery window possible—a week away.
We got them today. And after two weeks of not being able to do laundry, we discover the washer is definitely not working right.

The washer is a total lemon. We need to get a new set now. We’re eyeing a pair from LG, but from what we heard from the appliance sales guy when we bought the current set, it may be weeks before it even ships, let alone when they can come to install it.





And I’m thinking to myself... yeah, some of my favorite clothes are in a pile overflowing from my hamper and that sucks. But I could probably go at least a month without re-wearing anything.
