Frankly, I'm appalled at Democrats who say January 6th, 2021 was worse that September 11th, 2001.
First, you have to take into account the different death tolls: 5 Americans vs. 3000 Americans.
FFS, just going by numbers alone, the Pulse Nightclub shooting was worse than Jan 6.

Second, 9/11 caused irreparable damage to the landscape of one of America's most beloved cities. Those twin towers aren't coming back. Those holes in the ground, now a memorial, will never be filled. We'll never look at New York City the same. What's different after 1/6? A fence?
Third, after 9/11 we realized we all had serious enemies we didn't even know about, who were willing to attack anyone, anywhere, anytime, who could be among us without our knowing it, and who weren't deterred -- were attracted, even -- by the thought of losing their lives trying.
On 1/6 we realized that, wow, getting together tens of thousands of people angry at the government might result in a few hundred of them trespassing on government property, a percentage of those engaging in violence and theft, but mostly taking selfies and swiping some mementos.
If Democrats truly believe 1/6 was worse than 9/11, and after 9/11 a Republican gov't instituted mass surveillance and restrictions on Americans, and initiated 2 wars resulting in thousands of American deaths overseas....
