I used to work for Time Warner Cable in Milwaukee, and one day I got a work order for a Dustin Diamond. I was a huge Saved By the Bell fan, so I thought it was probably him, but I was cautiously optimistic. It was a 3pm appointment and he wanted to add a DVR to a tv. Easy.

I show up at 2:55 and knock on the apartment door and sure enough, I'm face to face with Screech. I try to play it cool and ask him to show me the TV.

Once we're by the TV I ask him to turn it on and put on channel 3. We had a company policy to have customers turn on TVs so we knew they worked before we touched them to help protect against liability, and at the time cable boxes worked on Channel 3.

The INSTANT the TV hits channel 3, (which was TBS in Milwaukee) the Saved by the Bell theme song starts. You hear the static, then the bell, then "when I wake up in the mornin'..." It was absolutely perfect. It was like seeing god's face.

I start laughing uncontrollably because it's the only way my smooth brain can process the gift that the universe has just given me. I nearly piss myself and Dustin Diamond LOSES HIS SHIT.

He definitely thought I was making fun of him, I try to explain that I'm not, but I'm laughing so hard that none of that is getting through. He demands to talk to my manager, so I call him up and put him on speaker phone.

He tells my manager that he wants me fired for disrespect and yells "HE MADE ME PUT ON SAVED BY THE BELL!!!!!!"
My manager, a 40 year old dude named Forrest, has NO idea what is happening and says "Look, that show sucks, but I can't fire him for that."

This sets him off even harder, and he tells me to leave his apartment IMMEDIATELY, which I do.
I used to joke that Dustin was my nemesis, and he definitely had flaws, but he was taken too soon by a horrible disease and to this day, nothing has made me laugh harder than that. 9/
