On the conversion by Ebit Lew, I think we agree on issues more than we actually think.

1. Helping the poor is virtuous. It is also a sign of a fundamental failure of Government.

2. Religion should be a choice. The "poor" must also have that choice. Chosen freely and willingly.
3. Help and aid should not be bartered with conversion to a religion. It should be given on need of the recipient. If it is tied to conversion, it is shameful.

4. Aid should not be withdrawn on refusal to convert. Or reconsidered, to a community that doesn't convert.
5. However, if the aid provider talks abt God and teaches thru love and care and people choose to convert, that should be ok, and in fact celebrated.

6. Religion is not a 1 occasion thing. It needs to be sustained. Thru constant engagement, teaching, discussion etc.
7. Ustaz Ebit has done good things. If people convert because they do so willing and is not bartered as condition to aid, surely we must celebrate that choice?

8. If it is bartered it will not be sustainable long term anyway so the conversion will be reversed thru non practice.
