At many institutions, students don't start participating in high level, hands-on research alongside their professors until graduate school.

Here's how @goUFV undergrads can become a research assistant as early as their third year: (a thread) /1
Option 1! Scroll thru @UFVCareerCentre's job posting site, CareerLink, to see if any professors are currently advertising student research positions that you qualify for: https://ufv-csm.symplicity.com/employers/?signin_tab=0

(*Whisper* If you don't have luck, bookmark the site & check back periodically) /2
Option 2! Talk to a professor you have a good connection with who is currently doing research in a relevant field that interests you.

Ask if they would have the capacity to take on a student research assistant, and if so, what their expectations would be. /3
Student RA positions can be voluntary or paid! Faculty in need of funds for RA wages should check out:

Work-Study Program ( http://bit.ly/ufv-work-study )
Accelerate Research Fund ( http://bit.ly/regs-arf )
Faculty/Student Research & Scholarly Activity Fund ( http://bit.ly/regs-fsrsaf ). /4
If all else fails, DM us or email [email protected]! We are a team of research administrators who can walk you through opportunities you probably didn't know existed, or figure out concrete steps to get you to your research goals. /5
