Ah the usual classic, a reason why I say most of us are religious as a result of fear, we don't know what happens when we die, we want assurance that if there is an afterlife, it will have us in it & I denied it for a long time & then i finally accepted it https://twitter.com/mey3_nHyiRa/status/1353615421082116096
And last year I decided to stop wasting my time, if I'm worshipping a God because I fear the unknown why should I lie to myself that I love Him and that that's the reason I'm going to church every Sunday and doing my best to keep His commandments
And no the fear isn't gone, it's still at the back of my mind everyday, in fact I feel rejecting religion entirely means I'll have to reject spirituality too and that's the problem , growing up in a culture where it's a major tenet of life is very difficult
Am I saying juju isn't a thing? The miracles at crusades were fake? Each and every of those who claimed to be healed by pastors were lying? The Mallams aren't legit? The traditional priests are con artists? "Benin powers be lie?"
So currently I'm in a state of indecision, I don't know if God and Jesus are real, I don't know if any of the religions is the one true one, all I know is I'll probably be hindu if I was born in India, Muslim in Turkey, Buddhist in Thailand, my environment determines who I
believe is the one true God, so due to that factor of determinism, I'm not going to bother myself, I'm doing my best not to care, and let's just say so far so good, the consistency of science is a nice place to put my solace in, where my doubts aren't dismissed, my fear isn't
heightened and my mind at peace. So until I have a personal encounter with any of the true Gods and their only true messengers, I'm sticking with what the books tell me, we made all of them up.
