A thread on truth 🧵:

Christians are gullible. We place a high value on truth, so we presume other Christians, especially those in authority within the church, also respect the truth. We grant them the benefit of the doubt, while non-Christians are held at arms length. 1/5
Thus, Christians who tell lies are believed, while non-Christians who speak the truth are distrusted as "biased" sources. Multiply that dynamic by 40 years of culture war, and we land in our present situation.

The internet only exacerbated the situation. 2/5
In addition to the '90s options of Christian radio and Fox News, people now can disappear down conservative "Christian" information silos, where so many conspiracy theories are offered that they can "pick and choose their narrative." 3/5 https://twitter.com/oliverdarcy/status/1355544878990688259
The "Trump Event" exposed the divide between those Christians who still value facts and truth and those who don't. QAnon. Anti-vaxxers. Covid deniers. Election fraud. Religious liberty. False flags. Fake news. Socialism. CRT. Anti-BLM. Religious liberty. All are of 1 piece. 4/5
The fundamentalists who constantly cry "worldview" are the very ones who value truth the least. And don't you dare call them out for it, if you value your relationships.
