We often talk about how other characters affected eren in some way or another but we forget a very important person who is one of the people who affected eren deeply and still lives by their words and repeats their words whenever we hear him speak after the timeskip this
This person is his mom not only her death affected him to the point of him developping trauma and fear of losing people he loves and being of one of his main motivations to eradicate every last titan at the beginnning of the manga to being the main reason to overcome
His inferiority complex and thats 5 years later after her death just hearing her words that he doesnt need to be better than anyone bc he was born into this world made him feel so relieved and overcome his insecurity of not being good enough thats how much her words means to
Him and we saw again in chapter 131 he thought what his mom would think of his actions bc she is his moral compass and her opinion of him and his actions matters then again in chapter 121 he uses his mother's line "because i was born to this world" is the reason he wont accept
