I understand this sentiment, but it's a good example of what I'm talking about wrt presuppositions. https://twitter.com/timesnewemma/status/1356387591944368133
People are convinced by those who can offer them a solution to a problem. And public cross dressing creates a problem, as we've seen with the transgender bathroom debates of recent years.
A man adorns himself like a woman, goes out in public and needs to use the bathroom. But this causes a problem. If he uses the men's bathroom, well, there's a lady-looking person in the men's bathroom. If he uses the women's bathroom, well, there's a man in the woman's bathroom.
How do you solve this problem? If we are unwilling to say "by re-establishing laws prohibiting cross-dressing so this stuff doesn't happen," then we have no answer.

But leftists do. They say "she is a woman because she says she is. Therefore she can use any bathroom she wants."
Likewise, "you are denying her very humanity by even questioning this!"

Well, for those who are confused about this whole matter, who is more likely to win the argument--the person who answers or the person who shrugs?
So, again, if you don't want to lose this war over human identity, you will have to take positions that strike you as a little too zealous. It's the only option you have.
