all the posts about wanting to send kids back to in-person schools from parents just read as "jesus christ parenting this human is too much i don't give a shit if they die or i die or they kill school staff just get them out of my house"
im sure it's very hard to zoom school your kids but after years of talking to trans people and disabled people i have a much lower bar for just assuming parents don't give a shit about their children's life or death circumstances than other people do
like it's very clear once you read like 4 forum posts from autism moms or terf moms that most parents love their children extremely conditionally and giving all parents the inconvenient kids experience has not exactly led me to different conclusions
anyway the nuclear family was a mistake
everyone got mad at this take when noah posted it because they're prepared to be mad at him because he's constantly wrong about things that don't matter (comic books) but the family is 100% an oppressive institution. it basically fucks everybody up! and so are schools!
it's really easy to look at capitalism and go "hmm. that's not working" and it's always stunning to me how people look at the way the institutional structure of the the family tends to traumatize like more than half of trans and disabled people and go "that part is fine"
basically everyone still as nightmares about school and if you're like "those are fucked up and carceral" even leftists lose their shit at you about it sometime. fucking learn to recognize and be suspicious of institutions that hoard power, dipshits
literally every normative aspect of our society as run by capital and white cishet people is completely fucked up from medical care to grad school to the dmv and we gotta think bigger than just "well let's get everyone healthcare". we made a completely sick culture on every level
