Who is J. Gary Lawrence? How is he related to Washington State and the ongoing Progressive movement?

This document, from the UN’s website, highlights J. Gary Lawrence’s speech he gave in the U.K. in 1998

This is a short “must-read” and an excellent document which proves that Local Agenda 21 is and has been in WA since 1994.

J. Gary Lawrence was “...Director of the Centre for Sustainable Communities at the University of Washington and Chief Planner in the City of Seattle.” speaks to a U.K. audience about “Local Agenda 21”

The document clearly states that Local Agenda 21 is a part of UN Agenda 21 and the Rio Declaration (1992)

He also states that we don’t use the LA21 brand in the US...so we call it “something else, such as comprehensive planning, growth management or smart growth.”

“If it part of the City Manager’s or Mayor’s office...then the chances of success are far greater.”

But it’s not happening here! Right?!?

WRONG!

Since 1994 it’s been happening in Seattle and in King County... “Toward a Sustainable Seattle”

Only in Seattle?!? Not a chance, check out this quote from then Prime Minister Tony Blair regarding the U.K. in 1997...It’s happening everywhere.
