Today's State of the State speech by Gov. Stitt was the most divisive one I've heard in my 11 years in the legislature. Unfortunately, the Governor failed to strike the tone of unity that this time calls for. 1/
The Governor continues in his attempt to bring DC-style politics to Oklahoma by making his speech overtly partisan and delivering more of a campaign speech than the united message we need as a state. 2/
His speech was full of attacks: on school administrators & teachers trying to ensure schools reopen safely and on our tribal nations trying to protect their sovereignty. 3/
He attempted to paint a very rosy picture of our state's COVID response and current situation. However, his comments failed to face reality. January was our most deadly month yet, and we still have many, many families suffering the economic consequences of this pandemic. 4/
The @OklaHouseDems will continue our fight to protect frontline workers, push for the state to follow CDC guidelines, including a statewide mask order, and provide eviction relief to those who need it. 5/
