I often get asked to provide my expertise on #ISIS detainees in camps. Other than @USCIRF, no one asks about #Yezidis (victims of ISIS) who are also living in camps, or #Yazidis in Sinjar, which was hit by 🇹🇷 airstrikes, or Yezidis in Syria, displaced by Turkey.
Isn't that odd?
I gave my first talk about #Yezidis in 2016. I wrote a long report about Syrian #Yazidis, because I realized even MENA experts didn't know they existed. I made videos of displaced Yezidis. But 6+ years after the #genocide, people care more about #ISIS detainees than Yezidis.

I tried to warn about the potential impact on the #Yezidi community in #Syria if Turkey intervenes. https://twitter.com/AmyAustinHolmes/status/1158757942818156545?s=20
I even tried to warn and explain the demographic reality of northern #Syria at a CHP conference in Istanbul. @imamoglu_int and Kılıçdaroğlu were in attendance.
Of course, it made no difference. https://twitter.com/AmyAustinHolmes/status/1223300487497310208?s=20

So, from now on, this is my M.O.
If you are an NGO, or government agency, or think tank, or journalist, or anyone really, and you want to hear my expertise on #ISIS detainees, then I want to know what you think, and what you are doing, about #Yezidis. https://twitter.com/AmyAustinHolmes/status/1320445891770277888?s=20
