Claudia Roden, a British Jew whose family (originally Syrian) were made refugee from Egypt, is one of the world's most celebrated cookery writers. Her beloved blue 'Book of Jewish Food' was recently featured @jayrayner1 in @ObserverUK and posted on Facebook today.

What ensued?
Would this gently written piece about a beautifully written book - covering the lost communities of Thessaloniki (devoured by Auschwitz), the Jews of Middle East & http://N.Africa , India & the pyre of E.Europe - be well-received by this left wing newspaper's readers?

No.
No. What followed was a vile stream of antisemitic, ignorant and hateful remarks. So ignorant, it should almost be laughable. Almost.

Comparisons to Nazis. Accusations of theft. Accusations of baby-killing. Erasure of the rich tapestry of Jewish cultural, history & experience.
This simple post about Roden's book, as Rayner says: "spans the world. It goes everywhere...it always takes me home" is merely a springboard for hate.

Roden gives a voice to erased & murdered Jews.

The Guardian merely gives a voice to those who would erase & murder them again
I've spoken many times about the @guardian's deliberate fanning of antisemitic flames. This is just the bitter harvest of its hateful sowing. Feed people enough stuff about the baby-killing, organ harvesting, poisoning Jewish state and this is the result. https://twitter.com/jobellerina/status/1276555189403758596
The horseshoe exists, people. Antisemitism is alive & kicking on the Left, Right & otherwise. Antisemitism knows no political party, no religion, no colour, no nationality. Don't make excuses for 'your side'.
