This view of science is about 60 years out of date and ahistorical. Understanding what science is, how it works, and our place in it, as well as our own fallibility as scientists, could make us all better at what we do. https://twitter.com/oliver_s_curry/status/1356283189141123074
There are some really great books on this topic for those interested. I highly recommend Michael Stevens’s book “The knowledge Machine”
For a bit more technical but still intro book, Peter Godfrey-Smith’s book Theory to Reality is excellent.
For history of science, David Wootton’s book “The Invention of Science” is great
If anyone has any more, I would love some other recommendations.
