Thread : So my whole family has been shielding since pretty much last March. Had to go out today, FOR THE DAY! Hospital insisted I went for blood test then waited around for crucial results. So we drove through several small towns, past a few seafronts. NOTHING is locked down /1
It’s laughable, got sillier the further we went. Top five stupid open things :
1. Dunelm - For those essential lamp disasters.
2. Printer/Ink supplies.
3. Tile and mosaic supplies
4. Majestic Wine
5. Whole parade of cafes in outer suburb. /2

The seafronts and parks looked like Boxing Day, all cafes had long queues barely distanced.
Path lab had at least 40 ppl waiting, barely a metre apart. Couldn’t even register at reception for all the ppl queuing for an hour. /3

6. Dog Grooming
7. Pet stores
8. Traffic wardens
9. Shoe Repairs
WHAT ARE WE DOING?????????
Do we actually want this to never go away??

If I was a frontline COVID nurse driving home, I don’t think I could be responsible for my actions.
...can you imagine spending a YEAR inside, not going out at all, for anything, then seeing a LOT of ppl are just cracking on. Utterly surreal. Path lab told me twice “I could always go shopping or sit in the cafe”
I’M SHIElDING, AND THERE’S A PANDEMIC!!!!???

So, the only thing that apparently IS locked down now is education. Schools and clothes shops.
That wasn’t exactly what we meant when we said close the schools.
It wasn’t to keep Pippy Poodle Trimmed. /Ends
