There are a lot of good structural reasons why Disney's monopoly over entertainment is a massive problem

buuuuuuuuut

This is so very clearly what the MCU was destined to be and it's going to solve a lot of storytelling problems it's had going forward. https://twitter.com/Marvel/status/1356356311374422019
Part of the problem with the MCU has been that it tried to treat solo movies like regular comics and Avengers movies as team up events

Except every movie was basically the storyweight equivalent of a team up event. Which meant there was no room for smaller stories that fill gaps
The movies had one strength here: they always behaved like these characters existed between movies (Tony's on/off with Pepper is a big storyline that was never told)

but D+ shows let the MCU *show* those things instead of imply them in throwaway lines of dialogue.
Wakanda was a good place to start from the top, but it's long past time to work their way down.
