Sia's movie is ableist, spreading misinformation and dangerous. Using prone restraints on an autistic person when they're having a meltdown is extremely dangerous and could get that person killed. Sia was openly ableist by saying non-verbal people are inanimate objects +
and referred to us as wigs. Wigs? Seriously Sia? You first call us gifted, then objects and then wigs? What is wrong with you. Please just call us disabled, we're people, not objects. And you didn't even think about finding a different autistic person who could handle +
the environment? There are so many non-verbal autistic people or atleast autistic people that could've played this role. If you claim you can't do a project without Maddie you could have made her a background character. But not the main AUTISTIC character when shes NEUROTYPICAL +
We're tired okay, we want a movie that's not spreading misinformation, is dangerous or extremely ableist. You're making fun of us, you're mocking us, you're saying we can't act and its hurtful.
This is an example of one of the both ableist and dangerous parts of this movie. Restraining someone like this is extremely dangerous, putting your entire weight on them can get them killed. And this is a NEUROTYPICAL having an autistic meltdown. This is mockery. Not acting.
If you say "It's just a movie" or "Its just acting". Shut up, really. All we want is a movie about autism with a main character played by an autist. We don't want this, its hurts okay it really hurts and we're tired. @Sia I'll never forgive you for this.
