Something particularly grating about white women taking language we developed to understand oppression to dress up their personal disdain for certain white men. I'm tired of white people getting platforms to furthers confuse what privilege really means https://twitter.com/sfc_opinions/status/1356213758826311681
I’M SCREAMING!!!!

imagine the privilege of being MAD that an old man wore MITTENS to the inauguration of the world’s superpower built on GENOCIDE and SLAVERY.

i just have to laugh @ the lack of introspection in this piece
1) no, privilege cannot always be seen

2) lol at this white woman’s confusion that we dont see the world the same way as her. but instead of...talking to people and figuring it out she decided to make it into an op-ed and twist it into a shitty lesson in “privilege”
did she talk gender AND race? or did she White Feminism(tm) it and ignore the Blackness that intersects with gender for a majority of the women she listed here?

the privilege of being able to do that to Black women in the public eye. a trend I’ve noticed increasingly re: the VP
this op-ed is a great example of neoliberal white feminism. they take language meant to unpack STRUCTURAL and SYSTEMIC inequality and turn it into individualized critique.
Using the meme-ability of one powerful white dude as an example of race, class, and gender privilege bc MITTENS aint it.

esp when those type of microaggressions: being read as “distant” or not dressed “properly” is often wielded BY WHITE WOMEN against BLACK & POOR WOMEN
