I'm convinced either Yuu is exhibiting cognitive dissonance OR he's playing everyone as a fool and is doing a good job at it based off translation (Thread)
From yuu's speech (from translation) it shows:
- How convinced that doing this is going to be ok (without any plot twists)
- How little he's questioning the if's and the buts
- Expressing an single emotion

What doesn't make sense is :
- He's so sure of an situation he knows very little about.
- Despite showing extreme levels of stress (to the point he was suicidal), he was acting his normal, happy self moments later without the realization.(Majority of the time)

+ The fact Mika told him TIME AND TIME AGAIN don't trust him before something happens and something did happened yet he hasn't understood or realized after all this. Even after his "death".
From yuu's perspective , Yuu is completely confident that bringing Mika back as a demon means he's going to be alive and fine + he will be able to communicate with him like he does with asuramaru however it isn't as simple and ok as this but he doesn't know nor think it.
Idea 1,cognitive dissonance. The idea "family is family" is so etched into his mind that any belief or evidence to the contrary is rejected/ given an excuse for / Justified. This is caused by psychological stress and happens so that yuu's mental state feels stable.

His interactions (based off speech) seem quite empty as I feel he's projecting this persona outwards possibly as an coping mechanism as he exhibits an happy emotion that he does a lot.

Despite the fact :
- his friends are furious and angry at Guren
- Kimizuki yelling at him and Yoichi ready to annihilate Guren
- Guren getting extremely emotional as he's full of regret and guilt
Even if Yuu was listening to everything that Guren said isn't that a bit odd.

Masking (conceal an emotion/personality) is done either for a specific reason or in response to something. The reason and duration is completely circumstantial alongside if its a conscious/subconscious decision. I feel like Yuu could be masking/showing copping mechanisms.
His reactions and responses make me believe that he's planning something that is completely unexpected.
Could he be planning something?

Remember chapter 74(Asura + Yuu vs Shikadoji) where Yuu was able to trick Shikadoji into believing that he had control over him. It makes we wonder,how was he able to do it???
We all know that Yuu has a smart side which when he uses he can be quite smart. Wouldn't it be the perfect time to use to protect the person he's living for????
