Down 13 the Sixers went to a 2-3 zone but it is their activity in the zone that makes all the difference here to get the Pacers offense out of sorts. Milton and Thybulle had active hands and got two deflections and got Indy in the scramble mode.
Again active hands from Thybulle who gets the steal when McConnell tries to get the ball into the high post and gets the Sixers immediately into transition.
This is just good defense from Turner on the screen. He is up on it and gives a good contest on Korkmaz's shot, just solid.
Great crash of the glass from McDermott but Thybulle has to be better here, he is running around here a little lost and McDermott does not get touched on his way.
This is a really good baseline cut from Thybulle with the defense shifting over on the Korkmaz-Howard screen, he takes advantage of all the attention on the ball to give Korkmaz a passing lane.
Just solid defense from Thybulle to get the block on McConnell and the Sixers are running again with a Maxey layup off a Howard drag screen. Stops and scores are how you get back into games and this is a good example of both
This is a nice playcall against the zone to Brogdon a look but Thybulle's knack to get off the screen and get the block is impressive. This kid's defensive skill is huge man.
Off the block McDermott does a terrible job in transition defense. He is trying to recover to his match up. In defensive transition you have to pick up a person and figure it out from there but you especially have to stop the ball and Harris gets an easy one because of it
Now the zone gets even tougher when with Simmons and Thybulle at the top of the zone. Great job from Thybulle to collapse on Sabonis from behind for the steal. Then Simmons finds Korkmaz for a transition three.
A little order but interesting to see, first the Pacers put Brogdon on Harris so when the Sixers run their cross screen action he takes the smaller guy into the post. Indy puts Sabonis on it so he takes him out to the perimeter off that action. Harris' versatility is paying off
There is no comeback without Korkmaz who got going. Sometimes a coach will put back their starters once they are back in the game but Doc stuck with Korkmaz and it paid off because he started to light it up.
Thybulle peeling off late and getting his hands in the passing lane to Sabonis, he just kept coming. His defensive playmaking was on full display in this one.
