So brave of Evan Rachel Wood to do this (there are lots of misogynists about who despite everything will aim to damage her career).
One of the key things here is "I am here to... call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives" - enablers know https://twitter.com/AshleyySpencer/status/1356174408272932864

Enablers should not be allowed to get away with it. Sure, they may not do it themselves but they actual empower someone else to do it.
If you don't speak out, you are an enabler. It's really simple.
We need men to speak out and be our allies.

Most men are protected by their privilege and often don't see what is happening. It's incredible to me how different my experience of the world is.
Please don't minimise women's stories of what has harmed them. Don't question them. Instead listen to them and take them seriously.

You also need to understand how painful it can be for women to share and a negative or minimising reaction can have far reaching consequences.
I know you don't intend it, but we need men to open their eyes and ears and see and hear our pain and our actual lived experience.

I really hate that I have to go so close to "not all men" in order to protect the feelings of some men who follow and avoid getting that kind of response. And so I am not doing that anymore.
This is real and all around you.

Every woman you know has lots of stories that she likely hasn't shared with you because society shames women.
I was groped by a passing stranger on the street when I was 19. I pushed him away and he punched me. I didn't tell anyone for years.
Just one example of many, sadly.

Every woman remembers the first time something like that happened. And also remembers it being minimised and learning not to share them. Because the woman gets blamed. Almost every time.
For most women, they were still a child. Just think about that.
