White supremacist thinking became nearly extinct as society moved beyond the idea of race and encouraged race neutrality.

The reality is white racism, which was a specific and cultural mindset, inspired a reactionary black identity movement in the 60's and 70's.
To combat white racist stereotyping and the horrible ways in which black people were portrayed in media and treated in American life, black pride became an empowered response to uplift black people out of this cultural marginalization and oppression.
The larger society chose race neutrality and race itself became less and less prominent. But those in academia and activism who embraced black pride continued believing and asserting racism had not subsided and built a new intellectual movement surrounding systemic racism.
That movement known as Critical Race Theory has been systematically taught in liberal arts, race theory and black studies courses in colleges for decades. The advocates of race essentialism developed a complete worldview that positioned being black as a unique separate identity.
Today those advocates exploit society's opposition to racism and continued desire to create a just and equal world by promoting the idea that in order to continue uplifting black Americans out of oppression, aggressive pro-black identity must be celebrated.
Society abhors racism and therefore is extremely interested in combatting it, which these same voices promote relentlessly.

Convincing Americans that race essentialist thinking is necessary to combat widespread racism along with aggressive social shaming of the accusation.
Black identity, combined with decades of justified anger and resentment, has become deeply embedded racism.

But without a social force to shame that racism, and in fact, a system that rewards it, black identity has replaced white racism in American social discourse.
This is also expressed with advocates of all race essentialism today.

So what happens when a socially dominant group continuously targets, shames, discriminates against and harasses another group based exclusively on race?

Reactionary racial identity and pride.
The left has revived racism in America and recreated the white pride and identity movements in its race essentialism social efforts and as they gain more influence, this will grow more extreme until society as a whole once again demands removal of race from our national identity.
Conservatism, which values individualism, must be the leading voice against race essentialism in favor of culture, heritage and ethnicity, but primarily individualism.

We must continue to advocate against *all* racial identity movements and and focus on humanity as one.
