Buffalo Teachers Federation in court now with Buffalo Public Schools re: union seeking injunction on reopening
Judge Emilio Colaiacovo noting that the district's reopening plan was sent to both the state Dpt of Health and Ed Dpt, and neither had any opposition to it.
Judge: My question is why did the (BTF) wait until the Friday before the children were to resume school on Monday? (to file a suit to block the reopening)
Judge asking why BTF did not accept the district's offer in early January to walk through several schools to check on health and safety measures that were in place
Judge noting that Buffalo is the only school district in the region if not the state not to have reopened until now
Judge declines to issue temporary restraining order to reopen schools, saying it would be problematic since schools have already reopened.
