make his own decisions and he knew about Mafuyu’s situation. None of them deserves to be shamed or hated, being Yuki who committed su*cide and left too soon, Mafuyu who is grieving and trying to move on, or Ue who is experiencing his first love with difficult premises. +
“They’re focusing on Yuki way too much.” Hello?? Given wouldn’t even exist without Yuki. He had to die for this story to begin. Like it or not, he has a huge role in this story. He was deeply loved by Mafuyu and his sudden death left a huge scar on everyone who knew him. +
And the trauma. The trauma of being the one who found him, can you imagine living with that for the rest of your life? The guilt for those last words said in a heated moment mercilessly eating at you, and knowing you won’t have the chance to take them back.+
The author wants to tell a story about loss, grief and learning to live with that grief. Because hey, maybe you don’t know it, but grief never leaves you. Eventually you can just learn to live with it, if it doesn’t consume you first. +
The pain of the person you love being forcefully cut from your life forever, that’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. And tbh the lack of empathy a lot of you show about this topic gives me the chills. +
Mafuyama’s confrontation will happen soon. They’ll probably talk about what happened in the past and it will hurt a lot for both of them. From that point on, we’ll see the aftermath of it. In case you didn’t notice, Given isn’t a happy story. +
Also, the pace is the way it is, both because the updates come out each 2 months and because there was a huge focus on akigetsuharu and shizuragi too. The same thing applies for everything: don’t like, don’t read. Let authors tell their own stories at their own pace.
