There’s lots being said about CH and the future of podcasting. Podcasts are here to stay imo

There’s a good chance Clubhouse becomes Snap 2.0: A great, innovative company that reaches scale, but has key features cannibalised/throttled by other platforms.

For example >
Twitter recently acquired Squad (real time video) and Breaker (social podcasting). They’re working on Twitter Spaces already, which will compete with Clubhouse USP.

Many CH topics originate on Twitter already. Imagine if audiences can be activated in-app, + links, images etc.
- Spotify has been, and continue to invest in exclusive podcasts.

- Apple is working on a subscription based podcasting service to compete with Spotify. In 2020 they also acquired Scout FM, a podcast AI platform.

- Amazon is doubling down on podcasting efforts to do the same.
There will be plenty of room for more specialised audio platforms that won’t prevent Clubhouse existing and thriving in the same way TikTok, Snap and IG all exist.

But Twitter, Instagram etc. can cannibalise features to feed their existing audience, forcing CH to niche down.
